Gingerbread House

We made some Ginerbread Houses this year.  It wasn't as hard as we thought.

Havana's decorating plans.

Decorating with Gumdrops, Mike-and-Ikes and Peppermints.

Time to see how it tastes!

Gingerbread Recipie

6 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 tsp ground ginger
4 tsp ground cinnamon
1-1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1-1/2 cups molasses

Mix all ingredients.  Refridgerate for an hour.  Roll out dough approx 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.  Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to15 minutes.  Let cool completely.

Royal Icing Recipie

3 egg whites
5 cups powdered sugar

Beat egg whites until foamy.  Slowly add powdered sugar.
