Gingerbread House

We made some Ginerbread Houses this year.  It wasn't as hard as we thought.

Gingerbread Recipie

6 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

2 sticks unsalted butter

1 cup dark brown sugar

2 tsp ground ginger

4 tsp ground cinnamon

1-1/2 tsp salt

2 large eggs

1-1/2 cups molasses

Mix all ingredients.  Refridgerate for an hour.  Roll out dough approx 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.  Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to15 minutes.  Let cool completely.

Royal Icing Recipie

3 egg whites

5 cups powdered sugar

Beat egg whites until foamy.  Slowly add powdered sugar.

Asia's Broken Arm

Asia broke her right arm (again!) jumping off the playground. She was very happy to get a pink waterproof cast this time!

Camping Trip

We survived our first family camping trip together at Wekiwa Spring State Park!  On a nature walk we came upon a gopher tortise who was totally oblivious to us.

 Havana and Asia were flowers girls for Jackie's (Michelle's cousin) wedding in Miami.
