We visited my Mom in California for Christmas.
We spent Christmas day at Hotel Del Coronado, where they had ice skating (it was more like a lake in the sunshine!) and we enjoyed climbing the sand dunes at the beach.
We also visited Lego Land, Balboa Park and the Zoo.
Three kids with jet lag in one hotel room for a week was a bit rough (Emma was usually awake by 5:30 am). But, the kids did amazingly well on the airplane and through the airports.
