Asia loses a tooth
Asia lost her first tooth! However, she would not place it under her pillow for the toothfairy to take. She wanted to keep it to show everyone.

Finally Home!!!
One common condition in infants with Down Syndrome is Hypotonia (low muscle tone) which causes trouble eating. Because of this we had to stay until Josiah was eating well enough to go home. This seemed like an eternity!! After 20 days in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Josiah was finally discharged from the hospital.

Some Unexpected News
The night that he was born the doctor told us that he suspected Josiah had Down Syndrome. This news was a shock to us! We had declined the DS screening tests while Michelle was pregnant. Over the next week Michelle and I each struggled with the possibility of this being true as we waited for genetic test results. By God's grace He was preparing us to accept the news. As it turns out our little guy does in fact have DS. Specifically he has Trisomy 21 which is the most common form of DS.
Michelle and I have each spent some time crying and praying over this. When you go to have kids this is not what you signed up for. And yet God knows better than we do what's best for us. Our God is sovereign and we are reminded that he is also a good God. He does not make mistakes! We are awaiting God's purposes and a plans to unfold for our little man Josiah.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you. ~ Psalm 139:13-18
