Trick-or-Treat

We decided last minute to get a pumpkin this year. So the night before Halloween we got what was left from the pumpkin patch. After a little coaxing, Havana helped dig some guts out of the pumpkin. Asia decided to just watch.
The girls are ready to go trick-or-treating.

Number Three on the Way

Well, in case you haven't heard (or seen) already . . .

We will be having baby number three sometime in late February. Michelle is 18 weeks pregnant now. Should we find out if it's a boy or girl?? We are still undecided.

We decided to try a party at the beach this year. Havana helps make the "Ariel Barbie" cake.

Burying the treasure chest early in the morning.

Havana gets her "game face" on for the party.

Tropical Storm Fay

Well in case you haven't heard by now, we had a storm over Florida for a while. We stomped around in the puddles while the center of Fay stalled right on top of us for hours, flooding areas just South of us.

As we went to bed that night I mentioned to Michelle that, "I wouldn't be suprised if the lake was halfway into the back yard tomorrow." Overnight Fay moved North and then stalled again dumping quite a bit of rain on us (I've heard anywhere from 24 to 36 inches!!) The next day we could have went swimming in the yard, but with all the talk on TV about sewer systems overflowing we decided to stay out of the water.

The water was still a few feet from the house, but we ended up with wet carpet in the back two bedrooms somehow. So after much deliberation, we decided to rip out the carpet to keep the water from soaking its way any further into the rest of the house. Then I raced to Home Depot to buy some dehumidifiers before they were all gone.

So to finish a very long story (by my standards) we have the rooms dried out and new carpet has been installed already. We feel very fortunate to have just minor damage to deal with. Thank you Lord for watching over us!

Fourth of July Week

We spent the 4th of July week in North Carolina with Michelle's side fo the family (our third annual trip). Michelle and I did a rafting trip down the Middle Occoe River.

We did some tubing at deep creek.

Roasted marshmallows by the fire.

And tromped around in a nearby creek.
